I'm getting 50 next Monday!

It's outrageous! Schocking! Depressing! Unbelievable!

So, cheer me up! I want, just this one time in my pretty unspectacular life, to have posted a LJ entry that gets so many comments that after a while they only appear as subtitles on the comments page.

So, give me this gift. Send people my way in cyberspace. Talk to me about everything and nothing - as long as it raises the count. [livejournal.com profile] lhun_dweller might remember about that dream of leaving a supermarket with a full shopping cart - just once.

Yes, it's silly, I know. But honestly, it costs you not "a weary cent", as the Germans say, and I'd like to have this so badly, just this one time. And since it's highly unlikely that I'd manage to reach my goal by posting astounding fanfic or simply interesting topics, I have to use more drastic methods.

The audience room is open till October 9, which is my 50th birthday. Come in, have a good time and talk to me!

Edit: And if you want to know what are we going to eat on the RL party on Sunday, check out my next entry. *g*

Birthday Wishes from Maeglin

Normally I don't deign to notice mortals, but on this occasion I am grudgingly making an exception and am acknowledging your miserable existance. Don't bother to grovel; your gratitude means nothing to me in any case, and I certainly don't want to have to help you back onto your feet in the event your sickly mortal back should give out.

[identity profile] turukano.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Mind your tongue, sister-son! A prince of Gondolin should have better manners than that.

*turns to Soledad* Apologies, mortal maid. My nephew had a difficult childhood, and he seems intent on revenging it by ensuring that everyone around him will have an equally unpleasant day. Pay him no mind, and eat your cake.

[identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't worry, my Lord! I've been a teacher of underage trolls for decades. Nothing your nephew can say could surprise me. I've heard it all. *g*

Strangely enough, all of them make the excuse of a difficult childhood. Hmmm...

[identity profile] turukano.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
*lowers voice* I suppose that conicidence could be explained by the theory that difficult personalities create the conditions needed for a difficult childhood.

If you could find a way to teach my sister's brat some desperately-needed manners, i would be grateful. You have no idea what it's like to be locked away inside a hidden city with him for hundreds of years!

Send him over the pond - if he can swim such a long stretch - and I shall try my best. No guarantees, through.

Is this your pathetic attempt to make yourself feel better by putting down others? Your refusal to notice mortals is what led to Tuor and Idril's wedding. Maybe if you'd given him more credit and considered him serious competition, you would've been able to better court your cousin. Of course, only you would think that an incestuous relationship is better than a union between elf and man.

Your refusal to notice mortals is what led to Tuor and Idril's wedding.

There is some truth to your words. Had I paid more attention to Tuor, I would have spotted his obnoxious flirtation in time to throw him off the city walls long before he could have corrupted my beloved cousin's heart. It is the only thing in my life I truly regert.

You'd never stand a chance against Tuor! He's The HAWTTT!

It is not possible for anyone so hairy as that mortal to be hot in anything but the literal sense. Were I not sure of my fair cousin's delicate sensibilities, I'd wonder if a taste for bestiality was behind her seeming attraction to the brute.

Don't diss it until you've tried it. After all, what joys did you know in your doomed life? Besides, that particular union produced some very fine offspring. *points at icon* Are your so sure your own - theoretical - descendants would have come close? I doubt it.

My descendents would have course far exceeded all expectations.

Depends of the expectations. *g*

Greetings Maeglin! If you think you can intimidate me with bad manners, you're sorely mistaken. I've been working with adolescent trolls for three decades, you can't show me nothing new. But I feel honoured nonetheless. *g*

[identity profile] sharp-glance.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Of course you feel honored. No doubt this is the first time in your miserable existence that a person of consequence has deigned to notice you, much less speak to you. Be assured it will never happen again.

And I would have you know my manners are perfect. Do not presume to judge your betters, woman!

[identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
Heh! You're nothing compared with the Elvenking of Mirkwood!
*waves "Thranduil 4eva" banner wildly*

[identity profile] sharp-glance.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Him? He's not even a Noldo. And Mirkwood sounds like a cheap knockoff of Nan Elmoth. Your odd preference for that nobody only confirms your poor taste in Elves.

[identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
You're just jealous because he's blond, and everyone knows that blonds are Teh Hottest (TM). Plus, he defended a his realm without the help of any fancy Noldorin trinkets and was successful in it. Yep, definifely jealousy. *g*

"Long live the King of Mirkwood!"
