Back to the frying pan
Weather-related relief was fairly short-lived, restricted to the late night and early morning hours. By now, temperatures have climbed to 31°C again, 27-28°C inside the flat. Whatever one wants to get done has to be done in the early morning. Unfortunately, when one stays up late in the night, getting up really early is not an option. Not for me anyway. I need at least five hours of uninterrupted sleep to be functional at all.
Consequently, I only got done a bit of crafting in the morning (after having taken care of my morning chores and taking down the dried washing). By noon we were both brain dead and simply fell asleep - until almost 3pm. Lunch consisted of the cantaloupe I dissected in the morning, coffee, crackers and ice-cream. Too hot to cook, too hot to have an actual appetite. We might be able to eat something more substantial for dinner. I don't want Mum to lose what little strength she still has due to the lack of appetite.
I've managed to write a tiny bit afterwards - not very much, just a couple of paragraphs, but
picowrimo inspires me to do at least a little. Then I called a few of my (ex-)colleagues, who - oh wonder of wonders - actually answered the phone, so that was nice. Now I'm about to type up what I've written today and to post the new chapter to
otherworlds_lib and to AO3. *fingers crossed*
