Saruman has gone to the West :(

Sir Christopher Lee is dead. And while he's lived a long, full life, he'll be missed. There aren't many voices like his on this planet. Or many people with such an intense presence. I saw him in many different roles and genres, some of which were truly godawful, but he always managed to dominate the scene.

The great ones are leaving - first Leonard Nimoy, now Christopher Lee. And while there are good actors in the younger generations, I'll still miss them. Does that make me old?

I'd not heard this news. I don't see anything wrong with missing such legendary performers. They gave us characters and stories that are a part of our personal lore, and we love stories. It seems only right that we should feel their absence.

It just happened a couple of days ago. I risked a look into one of those German gossip programmes, mostly bringing celebrity news, and for this one time they brought news of an actual celebrity, not just the Beckhams, Paris Hilton or other brain-dead marionettes.
