It's hot, babe!

Heat wave! How I've missed you - NOT! I mean, the arctic summer we used to have up to a few days ago was a little strange, but definitely preferable to cooking in my own skin. Ah, well.

Not much's happened lately. I worked in the early morning hours last week - just escorting kid to summer camp, nothing terribly exhausting - went to see various doctors, and we finally paid the last rate for our England-Wales trip in August. Yay! I'm so looking forward to that!

Wrote a few disjointed pieces for "Vox Angelica" and finished another chapter to "A Big Fat Torchwood Wedding". Strangely enough, not being under constrant stress isn't as helpful as one would think. It makes me a lazy git. *le sigh* OTOH, I was so drained when school term finally ended that I probably need to recharge. Which usually eats up the holidays entirely, and then the stress begins anew. Life is badly organized, I tell ya!

Got Mum hooked on "The Murdoch Mysteries", which is nice. We don't have many shows we'd both enjoy, aside from "Castle" and the reruns of "The Sentinel", so it's kinda nice to watch TV together. We both enjoy Detective Murdoch and the charming atmosphere of the series very much. It's a good thing that Hungarian TV shows it each day from Monday to Friday; if I'm lucky, I'll have most episodes recorded before our trip.

So, that's it. Oh, have I mentioned that it's HOT here?

Hot and muggy here! Big thunderstorms expected very soon. Will probably make it hot and steamy rather than cooling things off.

Sounds promising... wait, actually, it doesn't! *sends compassionate thoughts*

Oh dear - heat waves are such a bother! *sends cool thoughts*

(I never did understand why so many people are so eager to travel to the South in summer; I much prefer to do so in autumn when the temperatures are reasonable so that it's actually possible to go sightseeing.)

Must be the masochistic tendencies. *nodnod*

I'd love to travel in the autumn, but we poor teachers are dependant on school holidays, which tend to be in the hottest season.

I enjoy the heat wave that has just returned here, but I'm hoping for you it'll cool down in Hungary.

Enjoy the not-stress :)

I hate hot weather. Everything beyond 26°C is caused by the devil itself. Unfortunatley, we're waaaay beyond 26°C right now.

26 is just about when it stops being "too damn cold" for me *laughs

Temperatures above that always give me migraines. Migraines are so NOT GOOD(TM)!

*hugs+ Poor you!

Well, you can have your pick - too hot, or too cold. That's all the weather seems to dish out these days!

So very true! Doubly unpleasant for those of us old enough who still remember the ancient times when there used to be actual seasons. Including spring and autumn, with pleasant temperatures.

We've also been very hot and humid here, but a thunderstorm broke the heatwave, so at least tonight, we'll be sleeping happily under a light coverlet, and perhaps the dog will stay on the bed all night instead of hopping off to sprawl in the front room under the ceiling fan. Wishing you a similar reprieve!
