Things started well enough. On my way back to school, I fished the parcel from [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris from my post box, with Taran Wanderer in it. Thanks, Gemma! Mucho appreciated! *hugs*

As [livejournal.com profile] larian sent me enough candy to feed an army for at least a month, I took some of it with me to the big Xmas dinner at school. My fellow teaching slaves were most enthusiastic. They said they either want the recipe, or Larian should make us candy every Xmas. *g*

We sung our concert repertoire again, and this time we didn't screw up anything. I was frigging nervous - singing solo when all your colleagues (some 60 people) are glaring at you is not a thing for people with frail nerves. My palms were sweating like crazy. But I survived it.

Dinner was magnanimous. At least nine colleagues cooked or baked things, and we ate wildly across the entire menu. A good thing this was the last working day this year. I'm sure some of us will be sick tomorrow. But it was fun nevertheless.

Then we got presents, which works like this: everyone takes a small parcel with whatever they could put together with them. Then we got numbers. The collegaue who is organizing the whole thing, grabs a parcel randomly and pulls a number. The one who has the right number gets the parcel. I got a CD with Christmas songs and a box of pralines (cherries in cognac, shudder).

Then a colleague who was with car took me home. It was nice of her, as it was raining like crazy at that time. Yesterday, it was snowing, and weather forecast promised more snow for Thursday. So I'll really have to go and buy that Xmas tree tomorrow. *sighs*

My PC starts showing serious signs of a breakdown. Pray with me that it holds out until January when Very Important Neighbour (TM) can take a look at it. We're on holiday 'til the 3rd of January, so I can't even use the computers at school in this time.

Yep, it was really quick, wasn't it? If only my cards would be so fast...

Thanks again! *hugs*
