Christmas Concert 2005
Nov. 29th, 2005 10:55 pmJust for the record:
It will take place on December 18, at 11a.m. in the St. Gellért Parish Church
The program is going to be:
- Midőn a Szűz bepólyálja gyermekét
(Hungarian Christmas canon for 6 voices)
- O Beautiful, Mystic Night
(Hungarian Christmas son for 3 voices)
- Hungarian Christmas Lullaby
(For 2 voices + a soprano solo)
- Evening Pryer
(Hungarian religious song for 4 voices)
- Signore delle cime by Giuseppe de Marzi
(sung in Italian, which none of us can speak, so the more fun)
- The First Nowel by John Suiner (sp? it's an nth generation fotocopy)
(Only two voices, but very lovely, IMO)
(We have great fun with English pronounciation. Especially the ones who
don't speak English. Which is oh, about 80 per cent of the choir members)
- King Jesus (I think it's called a gospel piece???)
(Now, this one is fun! 6 voices, sung with organ music and stuff)
Too bad nobody of you will hear it. The children's choir will have its concert at 9a-m. They're suffering during rehearsals like dogs, too. *g*
But I'm actually starting to look forward to it. We might manage to put the songs together, as it seems.
