Temperatures have dropped by 12 degrees since yesterday, due to repeated heavy rainshowers. You'd think that would help. You'd be wrong. We only have 25 degrees today, but humidity is through the roof and the balcony folded twice. Now it's all sunny again, and it's almost impossible to breathe.

Despite all of this, I did the first third of the cleaning today: kitchen, loo, bathroom and part of the anteroom. I've just finished when it started raining for the first time, so I could strategically place the bucket in time. Such are my successful actions.

We were done in for the rest of the day; actually skipped lunch entirely in lieu of coffee, some crackers and ice cream, even though we had leftovers from yesterday in the fridge. The mere thought of a warm meal made us feel nauseous. No problem for me, I'm way too chubby for my own good, but Mum ought to eat regularly. It's hard when you can barely breathe, though.

We both spent a lot of time lying down and trying to survive. I've made some very modest progress with my craft project: just sewing on the "Handmade with Love" labels onto the house doors, where the name plaques are supposed to be. They look good enough. I've also undone one of the clouds because I didn't like where it was situated and re-sewn it about half an inch deeper. Not a big difference, but the overall looks are better now. I also changed the design of the front pages a bit. Still haven't solved the smoke problem, though. I might give up on the entire idea, after all.

I've tried to call H. and my friend Evie to see how they've gotten through the rain but had no luck. Perhaps tomorrow. We'll see.

I wish our temperature drop had come with rain as well, but no such luck!

I have nothing against the rain per se. I just wish it would stay outside, where it's needed for the fields.

Yeah, since we had both, rain and strong winds. It doesn't like the combination.

The sad thing is that, even if you use an electric fan, when the air is that humid all it does is circulate the damp air.

True, although we don't even have an electric fan because our eyes can't bear it.

Welcome to the summer weather we have here, where 26 degrees are deadly annoying because of humidity...
