So, I've cleaned the dratted flat. With short interruptions (like breakfast) it "only" took me, oh, six hours or so. But I've done it.

Afterwards, I decided that I've deserved a serious treat. Not just for the cleaning, but also for the last four years of no day off, no holidays, no nothing. Therefore I went to the Lindt chocolate shop to buy myself a chocolate bunny; the really big one that weighs a kilo or so. I've been dreaming of one of those for years, but always managed to talk myself out of wasting money that way. Today, however, I was determined to splurge myself.

You can guess the outcome: they didn't have any giant bunnies this year. They had had them last year, but this year the biggest one was 200 gr. I bought that one anyway, but I was really, terribly disappointed. In hindsight it is probably a good thing, because I'll never get this insane again (hopefully), but I was close to tears in that stupid shop. Silly, I know.

Due to the cleaning marathon I was practically useless for the rest of the day. Thank God I didn't have to cook - the outcome might have been mildly horrible. But we had leftovers, so that problem was solved. Actually, we still have some of them for tomorrow, which is a good thing, as tomorrow promises to be quite busy.

1 kg bunny?
That must've been quite something.

Even the smallest disappointments weigh heavy when you're in need of consolation. Heavier than 1kg :/

When you need a vast amount of chocolate you just need a vast amount of chocolate. I totally get that, and I'm sorry you were thwarted. I remember that imprisoned feeling from when my own mother was getting older.

Congratulations on getting all that cleaning done alone. I was shattered after just one hour yesterday. You have way more stamina than I do.

I think it was more along the line of "when I don't do this today I'll have to clean tomorrow as well and I just wouldn't bear it".

As for the bunny, it wasn't as much about the amount of the chocolate as about the totally amazing giant gold rabbit.
Like this one:

As I said, I've bought the small (200gr) version of the very item, but it just isn't the same.

Back in 2017, we saw this totally amazing Lindt chocolate bunny exhibition (https://hu.pinterest.com/ekunster/my-travels/easter-in-vienna-2017/) in the Vienna department store "Gerngross". I never felt like that about chocolate ever again. :)

Never saw such a huge bunny! Might be, because I am generally not interested in chocolate. Then again, it would have been a real treat after the cleaning ordeal!

The cleaning ordeal was just the straw that broke the donkey's back. It was everything in the last 4 years: every hope I had for my retirement and that never happened.

In hindsight, it's perhaps better so. Once a chocolate figurine has been broken up, I can't help going back to it for more. It's bad enough with a small one — a giant Lindt Goldhase would have sent me in sugar shock or whatnot.

Oh dear — perhaps one bunny this week, another next week, and one for after Easter?

Oh wow, I never knew Lindt made a giant bunny!

I usually limit my Lindt intake to the 70% cocoa bars and only allow myself 1 square per day. Easter is an exception and I will purchase a small milk chocolate bunny for Bob and Ryan and either the same for me or if they have one, the small white chocolate bunny, my favorite. And whichever I choose, mine disappears in an instant while theirs decorate the house for a month, and I usually feel sick afterward from all the sweet.

Aww, how disappointing they did not have the giant bunny when you finally decided to make the splurge. If they have one next year, don't hesitate, go for it!

I hope that the 200-gram chocolate bunny was still tasty though.
