Saturdays are the worst
Jan. 27th, 2024 06:38 pm... in terms of slave labour. Firstly because Saturday is always laundry day, and laundry has to be done in very specific ways in our house. I won't bore you with details, just let me tell you that they are time-consuming and leave it there.
Also, since Mum had been waiting for the postwoman to deliver her pension yesterday, her weekly shower ritual got postponed for today. Also a time-consuming process, which is why we usually do it on Friday, but it apparently wasn't doable this week.
Then I had to cook today. Veggie burgers are fairly yummy (if someone likes veggies, which I don't), but making them is what? You've guessed right: time-consuming. Grrr! And I also had to make apple compote to turn our hard and completely taste-free apples into something enjoyable. Oh, joy - not! So I was multitasking in earnest all morning and early afternoon, seriously feeling like a house Elf of Harry Potter.
Still, I managed to finish the back cover insides of both baby books, out of sheer, pig-headed stubbornness. Behold the results:

The one on the left is the boy version, the one on the right the girl version. Obviously. They are similar, though not entirely identical, due to the fact that I didn't always have the exact same paper pieces, but I like the outcome.
After all this, I slept through the rest of the afternoon. Then I got up, transcribed some more of the chapter-in-work and am about to add today's paragraphs to the rest on
hiddenrealms. Five pages done (actually, six in the typed-up version), five more to go. It will take quite a few days yet, but I'm getting there.
