After having made an extended food run for the next 4 or so days (necessary, as shops will be closed on May 1), I bit into the sour apple, as we say in Hungarian, and started working on the actual book to the finger puppets.

It is a tiny bit complicated, as the felt page bases will be sewn onto cotton fabric backgrounds, for this will be a folding textile books, but I've cut out most of the elements and fixed them with double-sided tape. There's still a lot of detailed work to do before I can actually sew them together, but at least I can be fairly certain that they will come together, eventually. *fingers crossed*

It is supposed to look like this:

We'll see how much similarity will be there in the end. ;))

I also cut out some more parts for the Weihnachtswichtel I'm planning to make for friends and for the Christmas fair. Now I've got 10 of the little guys cut out and even their beards sewn on. I'll work on them bit by bit in front of the telly.

Other than that, we ate leftover soup with Vienna sausages that I bought in the morning and watched some telly. I also typed up some more of Chapter 8 of "A Stitch in Time". If I keep up with that, I might be able to post the new chapter to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib and SoA during the weekend.

And now I'm taking the rest of the evening off, playing Solitaire and watching The Great Kiwi Bake-Off!

Ah, you have been busy!

I was going to do the grocery shopping today but I had to do other errands yesterday with a lot of walking (main street nearby is being worked on, so the next working bus stop for my line is a good 10 minutes of brisk walking away) and I wasn't feeling up to it today yet. So that will be tomorrow. A pain, but oh well... Gonna have to see if there is maybe a way to get around it, since I did get bread and eggs on the way home yesterday.

That is a lot of crafting. At least the Christmas fair items are less of a rush, so you can enjoy them.

The song is the Hungarian equivalent of "Old McDonald's Farm", with the protagonist going to the market with a half-coin and buys all sorts of farm animals. The song then imitates the sounds the various animals make and, of course, each verse is longer than the previous one. *g* These finger puppets are supposed to help first-term pupils learn the song, while playing with them.

Exactly! If only I could find the right size little bells for the hats — but if I can't, the Wichtel will have sparkly pom-poms on their hats. That's funny, too.

Cute, aren't they? Mine look very similar; I'll post a photo as soon as the whole project is done.
