...because schools have only restarted today, so we couldn't have got into the building yesterday. It wasn't a small practice, many people couldn't come because of schedules, but we worked hard to get two ambitious pieces into shape. There's still work to do, but we made good progress.

Behold the gingerbread eggs our fellow choir member Annie made for us:

On the home front, we ate the last leftovers (the asparagus-and-chicken quiche and the Easter cake) for lunch. Now all we have still left is some Easter ham, but I'm sure it will be gone in no time, too.

While I was at choir practice, Mum had a visit from her physiotherapist, so she wasn't even alone all the time. Not that she'd complain, but I still feel better when she does have someone with her, at least for part of the time I'm away. And she and the PS lady get on swimmingly.

I've worked a bit on the Hello Kitty booklets and nearly ruined my motif puncher, trying to punch out circles from the foil in which they sell ground coffee. The puncher is supposed to cut tinfoil without problems, but I didn't know that the dratted foil had a layer of plastic, which wrapped itself around... something inside the puncher and nearly killed it for good. I've managed to repair it with the help a pocket knife, a paper cutter, two different sets of tweezers and my teeth (I kid you not!), but it probably won't work as well as before, so I'll have to be careful with it. Still, having brought it back to semi-working order saved me the cost of buying a new one, and these things are not cheap over here.

I've also delivered all three baby books, plus the gardener book for Evie, who is planning to come over on Friday, to make up for last Saturday. I hope it will come together this time. *fingers crossed*

I have not purchased a paper punch in some time, here, but remember being horrified at the price of them last time I did.

There's one thing I learned about paper punchers- never punch too hard, those gadgets are such delicate things that they tend to fall apart and die on you when handled crudely!

It wasn't my fault; it was the stupid coffee tinfoil bag. I didn't know it had a plastic layer inside! The puncher valiantly dealt with the really thick mirror-surface cardboard less than an hour ago, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

It seems to work fairly well at the moment, but I'll keep a weather eye on it.

Craft supplies generally have horrendous prices. And I just can't resist. *sigh*

Oh dear — poor punch.

The gingerbread eggs look lovely — I hope they tasted good.

We haven't eaten them yet; neither of us is particularly fond of gingerbread. But the things some people can do with royal icing are truly amazing. I for my part never managed the art.

Me neither! It always seems so much effort for a biscuit!

The eggs look lovely, also the flowers. Glad to see you and Evie will get together soon.
