Effective time-management

So, we had our usual cleaning frenzy today, which I deeply hate but cannot avoid, unfortunately. I revenged myself by cutting out half the finger puppet bases for Monica's educational textile book and making a cheesecake later, to give myself a treat. Writing, of course, got the shorter shrift today, but I produced exactly one paragraph, just to keep up my picowrimo resolutions. I did, however, type up everything written yesterday and today, so I'm pretty proud of myself. (Someone has to...)

At least you have carpets, so dust and the like will stay in place. With tiles it gets more complicated- dust and dirt will try to hide at the backmost corners of the furniture and will only come back out the moment you ((think you have) finished cleaning!

We have a carpet in the anteroom that is slowly dissolving itself. The little white... things it sheds are all over the flat. We should have replaced it ages ago but don't find the right size for such a long and narrow room. *sigh*

My dust bunnies frolic and breed under and behind my bed, every time I have to look for something dropped in that area, I end up with asthma. I poke the vacuum cleaner hose down there every so often but I’m convinced the dust bunnies just mock me and dodge the cleaner.

At the moment my huge undertaking is folding my washing. I know it’s ridiculous but I have piles of unfolded washing on my desk in my bedroom, piles upon piles! Every day, I say I’ll do it today, and every day I find some other urgent task. But today will be the day!!!

Yeah, I know. There are simple, everyday tasks that I tend to push from one day to the next in the unrealistic hope that somehow the house elves will do them during the night. It never happens. :(
