Quick update

wiseheartI was baking all morning - well, up to 3pm, actually - for tomorrow's party. My apple jelly cake turned out well, so did my banana bread and the mini birthday cakes made for the two toddlers. My first attempt to make Bakewell slices failed miserably - clearly, I need a better recipe. Sadly, the one of Matt Moran from the Great Australian Bake-Off is no-where available. At least no-where where I could find it. The only link to it led to a Chinese website - even if I could get access, I wouldn't be able to read it. *sigh*
Tomorrow morning there will be cheesy buns and mini sausage rolls on the programme, and another experiment, the cranberry orange cream scones. I wonder what those will turn out like. Wish me luck.
After the baking marathon I was pretty much done in, so we ate leftover soup and two pieces of fried fish with leftover salad - very good after so much sweet stuff. My friend Evie called then and was happy about the menu. I hope we'll have a lovely party tomorrow. *fingers crossed*
