Late today
Oct. 4th, 2022 08:15 pm... because of choir practice, which is always a delight. But we were busy today in any case.
In the late morning, we finally rearranged Mum's wardrobe, which was long overdue. IMO, it doesn't look any different than it did before - hers has a lot more room than mine so we can lay her blouses, pullovers, etc, in comfortably. Now, rearranging mine, which is also long overdue, will be a different matter. The task to get things out of it alone is scary, even though last year I donated a good third of my clothes, either because they didn't fit anymore or because I couldn't understand in hindsight why on Earth I had bought them to begin with. (Of course, the fact that it's really hard to find clothes in my size for the price I can actually afford might have played a role.)
In the afternoon we had a visit from the physiotherapist lady and I went to Lidl and Aldi before choir practice. Ginger ale was still on sale at Lidl (30% reduced!), so I bought a couple more bottles. They can stand on the balcony and wait peacefully until they are needed. I also bought a few things for the upcoming birthday baking, like Quark and whipping cream and stuff, because when I make the big food run I have to haul home so much stuff I wouldn't have the strength to add more.
The political situation over here is depressing, particularly in healthcare and education, but while I feel for my poor (ex-)colleagues, I'm trying to ignore it as well as it goes. I can't really do anything, except offering moral support to my girls, which I do, and angsting about it day in, day out won't help. Thank God for choir practice, it still brings joy into our lives.

Date: 2022-10-05 05:26 am (UTC)I'm pretty sure I did a cull a few months ago and my wardrobe is full again. And I didn't buy much in Covid times!

Date: 2022-10-05 02:40 pm (UTC)I have too many clothes like that, too. As for politics... Liz Truss might not be my prime minister, but we use the £sterling, and are tied to the UK is a lot of other ways too, but I, too, am trying to ignore it as much as possible.

Date: 2022-10-05 04:25 pm (UTC)They probably do, although I ought to be more brutal with my culling. I'm always sorry to throw out good clothes, even if I can no longer wear them or no longer like them. I'll have to ask my friend Elise when will they take donations to that particular village they support. That way someone will still use the stuff.
