Behold the 7th batch of Christmas biscuits - this time the fancy ones again:

From the left:
Poppy seed stars
Walnut biscuits with marzipan filling
Coffee hearts with coffee ganache filling
2 versions of Nougat sandwich biscuits (only the shape and the decoration is different)
and (up right) butter cookies with coffee icing and mini-marshmallows.

The latter ones are simply butter cookies bought by Lidl; I made too much coffee icing and didn't want to throw it out. Against waste, as always... I also made too much ganache to fill the coffee hearts; I've frozen the leftovers and will use next year for a sponge cake or whatnot.

Theoretically, 4 more sorts are on my baking master list. Tomorrow I'll take a day of rest and then decide whether I want to make the last four or not.

My guess that if I start painting my cookies now I will have pretty but rock-hard cookies for Easter. Well done, my lady! Your cookies look wonderful. My favs for tasting are number two (l am a marzipan addict) and three ( same with coffee).

Sister Gisela used to say in the convent: "Wenn es den Kaffee nicht gäbe, müßte man ihn erifnden". I totally agree.
I was lucky enough to find some Kaffeeböhnchen at Auchan's, even though they were outrageously expensive. But they were from Ruf, and that's a brand with unreasonably high prices.

I'm very pleased how they turned out. Basically, they are almond biscuits with coffee icing and coffee and dark chocolate ganache filling.

These are all so pretty! And I'm sure they taste even better than they look :)
I hope you're keeping some for your own celebrations.

Oh, definitely! If we can't have friends and family over, at least we'll have biscuits.

Indeed. I left them for the last rounds, as they require more time and attention.

I really do love how pretty you make them, and as with every other batch you've made, they sounds so delicious!

I enjoy decorating biscuits very much. I wish I could use the piping bag with some skill, that would make things easier and even more enjoyable, but that's an art form I still have to learn properly.

I like the idea of decorating pre-bought ones. That would be about my skill level. ;)

For me it is the last resort, but if someone isn't an experienced baker it can be very useful.

Thank you. This year was all about experimenting with new recipes — out of sheer frustration. I think next year (if I'm still around) I'll go straight for the pretty ones. ;)

These are lovely. The details are incredible. Most of my cookies are best eaten by candle light. (They are so ugly. Yummy, but not nice to look at.)
