The GCBF continued today. I made Orangenküchlein, Kokoskipferl and Nußherzen. Tomorrow come the Spitzbuben and the day after the Eierbrezeln and Financiers again, to use up leftover egg whites. That's the plan anyway. We'll see what really happens.

My (also retired) ex-colleague, Ilike came over today to collect her cookie box. She was duly impressed by the amount and variety of biscuits made in recent weeks. She also fell in love with my bizarre CD angel head and happily take it home - I'm glad I won't have to throw it out, as I'm not sure I could have lived with it under the same roof in the long run. At least it found a nice place for itself.

The day was quickly over with triple baking, a lovely (albeit short and masked) visit (Ilike, too, is triple-vaccianted, but we were careful nonetheless) and waiting for the postwoman to bring Mum's pension. Sometimes I truly wonder where all that time comes, and how quickly!

Baking is time-consuming. At least you are well-organised, which I am not. I have given up on vaccination. With the new mutation of the virus we are due for another jab in March, so it seems!

We probably are. As long as it does what it's supposed to do, I don't even mind. If it does what it's supposed to do...

Yay for being social — even if distanced and masked!

It was such a nice feeling indeed, seeing how many things we will have to give up to Covid again this year.
I just got an e-mail that our Christmas concert has been cancelled (not that I'd have participated, being overly careful) and that choir practices have also been cancelled, until January for starters. It was the sensible decision (and I've stopped attending already anyway), but still such a big loss... We'd have sung extraordinary beautiful pieces this year. *sigh*

I know. But it's better to nurture (perhaps vain) hopes than despair completely. I'm not the despairing type.

We are stepping up Covid measures again here too. I am not surprised that your friend was impressed with your baking.

She's always known I baked a lot, even with the school kids in the afternoon. I think she just never realized that I can bake this much on my own. ;)
