In which Chakotay is operated on, Lillian Hobbs is surprised, Ivanova gets to blow off some steam and Mr Morden has an omninous encounter with a techno-mage.

See? It didn't took me another five years to update. Enjoy!

Yeah, I know. It took me some 5 years or so, and I'm truly sorry. But finally, Chapter 9 is here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4830255/9/Kansas-2-The-Yellow-Brick-Road,
and I've written the layout for the rest of the story. All 54 chapters of it.

No, I'm not kidding! The dratted thing is going to have at least 54 parts - unless it spawns some more along the way. Please, don't shoot me. It wasn't planned this way. But it got so complex that it's impossible to write in any shorter manner. And I haven't even included the third arc of the trilogy. *sighs*

Well, at least it's on the roll now. Enjoy!

Cross-posted to all respective Yahoo Groups, so apologies if you get to see this more than once.

Yes, really! After oh, a few years or so, I actually managed to write some Trekfic again.

If your remember (though really, why should you?) this is the very AU version of the 2nd Season Voyager episode "Resolutions" and part of my Alternate Voyager series... such as it is, consisting of two unfinished stories so far.

Anyway, Chapter 5 has been posted to FF.Net, and since this is the chapter where the Chakotay/Samantha Wildman romance really starts, I notched up the rating a bit. It doesn't deserve an adult rating yet (though it might later), but I thought it's better safe than sorry.

Other than that, it's what the Germans call a Robinsonade, with Chakotay, Sam Wildmann & Kids, a bunch of over-enthusiastic Ocampa, purple bussards, indigo blue goats and other bizarre things.

Here it is.

Have fun!

Other than that, I did an awful lot of background work on Beautiful Minds, the main story of the Iceman'verse. Basically, I wrote a timeline (in the last few days) for the entire 'verse, from 1988 to 2014 so far, although there might be some events even later than that, and I set up a list of all characters that had already appeared in Iceman and/or Convergence or will be appearing in Beautiful Minds (today). I'm mostly done with that one but had to stop when my hand started to cramp. Writing with a fine-liner pen so that I'll be able to read it later is hard work. On the up side, it looks pretty.

Iceman update is scheduled for tomorrow. So far, I'm fairly content with my current activities. Now if only my Tolkien muse would wake up... the upcoming long weekend, thanks a national holiday, would be perfect for writing.

Edit: And updated it is! Chapter 08 - The Tower has been posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib and to FF.net. Enjoy!

Apparently, the muse decided that it was time to pick up "Alternate Resolutions", one of my Voyager stories. I had other plans, but who am I to argue with the muse when she's actually cooperating for a change?

This is one of those stories where I have a fairly definite idea what's going to happen, so I might actually finish it one day. I was just waiting for inspiraation. Wish me luck.

I once read a lengthy Voyager fic, in which a pissed-off Tom Paris tells Chacotay that Seska's baby was actually his, after all. He just wants to get one on Chak, but it turns out that he's right: Janeway ordered the doctor to falsify the test results. Chak then goes back to Kazon territory and gets his son, and they raise the boy together with Paris. In the meantime, Janeway gets together with Tuvok and is pregnant with him. Chakotay is really hurt because he wanted to do with Tom the Mpreg thing but both commanding officers can't be on maternity leave at the same time. In the meantime they get back to the Alpha Quadrant, and there's real danger that Chak might get arrested as an ex-Maquis, so he hurriedly gets pregnant in hope to avoid it.

I was so sure that I had the story saved, but now I can't find it - must have fallen victim to a computer crash. Now, I don't remember the title or the author - it was definitely Chak/Paris slash, and I remember two sentences. In one, a frustrated Janeway tells the doctor to terminate her pregnancy (which he doesn't). In the other one somebody tells Chak that being preggers won't save him from the penal colony, because the baby can be transferred to a gestation tank.

Now, I've been googling for this story for two days, but apparently can't find the right keywords. Can someone help?

I'll add my Secret Sancta Kavfic afterwards, as we're not supposed to reveal who's written what. But if you want to make an educated guess, you can get over to [livejournal.com profile] kavtolanon and browse a little.

Phew! Taking a look at this, I have to admit that I've been a busy girl in 2008. Go me!

This is just a snippet that will one day become part of the first chapter of "Alternate Resolutions", a late episode of my "Alternate Voyager" series. It just popped up in my head one day and I got up in the middle of the night to write it down, because I liked the idea so much.

The premise is that - unlike in the canon Voyager episode - Chakotay isn't stranded on New Earth with Janeway, but with Ensign Wildman (the blonde exobiologist woman who gave life to a baby not much earlier). I also established the fact that this baby wasn't Naomi (who looked way older than her supposed age) but a boy. Naomi was already four year old at th beginning of the series and stowed away with her Mum when Voyager had to leave DS9 in pursuit of the Maquis.

In this AU, Maquis and Starfleet aren't all buddy-buddy like in canon. You'll see hints of that in these snippets. K'tarians first appeared in the TNG-episode "The Game", where Riker, once again, almost managed to bring the ship down because he couldn't keep it in his trousers. The K'tarian woman he had a romp with was called Etana Jol and really looked like a lioness.

So much about background trivia, now enjoy.

I've meant to write someting about it for a long time - and essay, perhaps, for the Otherworlds board - but my thoughts never seemed to form a coherent whole for that. So I'll just write down my woes as they come to my mind.

Okay, babbled enough. I just wanted to add that I won't be watching Atlantis in Season 4. I've read spoliers and transcripts about how Season 3 will end, and it's not the show I've grown fond of after a rather bumpy start anymore.

I've posted the next chapter of "The Joy Machine" to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib. I also added three more story recs to [livejournal.com profile] telekis_vendiak - one Voyager story and two DS9/Voyager crossovers.

The Protective!Chakotay archive seems to be gone, as well as the Prydain Guide and Gila's Cave. It's fortunate that I've mangaged to save my favourite stories to my HD, but it's a crying shame for the Prydain Guide. It was an excellent website, with a great encyclopedia - which I never came around to save. Now I won't be able to do so.

Hey, Trekkies who read this! Come and discuss the Borg with me on the Otherworlds board and vote in my Great Borg Poll.

Aside from the fun, it's also serves the good purpose of creating my own special version of the Borg, later on in the "Alternate Voyager" series and/or other Trek stuff.

Come and play with the mean little machines!

Edit: I'm afraid you need to be a board member to vote, but you can comment without joining the board.

I've posted the third and final part of my Voyager essay to the Otherworlds board. It's about wasted characters and plot ideas, basically.

Comments are very welcome.

... has been posted to the Otherworlds board. This part discusses the wasted adversaries, aka: the Borg, Species 8472 and the Hirogen. Ithilwen, I hope you don't mind that I quoted you. With due credit given, of course.

Stuff's here:

Have fun!

I've started a series of essays about sci-fi shows I had high hopes for but got very disappointed with. The first part of the Voyager essay has just been posted to the Otherworlds board:

The forum in the public area, so everyone can read and/or comment it, without the need to register, although you are welcome to do so, too. *g* I just hope for a little Trekker discussion.

Other essays planned are about Andromeda and Enterprise. We'll see what else comes up, especially with Stargate - Atlantis hitting German Tv on February 23. I can't wait. *rubs hands in expectation*

Nah, still not dead. And to prove it, here's the new "Kansas" chapter (waves to Jillian):

This time, it's just Garibaldi and Ayala trying to escape, Tuvok and a security team searching for them, and Lyta... well, she's having a bit of bad luck. Quite a bit, in fact.

On other news, school ends today. So, starting tomorrow, I might regain some of my mental abilities. *sighs* Maybe I'll even bring up the energy to go to the fitness studio regularly again. It'd be sorely necessary.

More Serious Stuff(TM), including the promised analysis of my class's social structure will be coming later. Or not. Depends on how much my brain will be functional after today. *g*
wiseheart: (Default)
In this chapter: Harry and B'Elanna try talking Marcus out of his heroic mood, Delenn, Kes and Janeway compare their childhoods, Sam Wildman has dinner with Vir in the Fresh Air Restaurant and Ayala makes a shocking discovery.

My wonderful beta sent me the next chapter of Alternate Caretaker last night, but I'm holding it back for a few days to allow people to read Kansas first.

Well, hard to believe, I know, but I've actually managed to finish chapter 12 of "Kansas". Here:

There is a great deal of dialogue that is actually quoted from the episode, but I stated that in the A/N's, so hopefully the idiots will leave me alone this time.

Other than that, there is some Ayala-Garibaldi friendship, Chakotay almost gets cold feet on his date, and Rastenn leaves Babylon 5.
wiseheart: (Default)
All right, folks, ff.net is back and so is Still Not in Kansas

Jillian, are you out there? I've just uploaded chapter 11 for you. Here:

The big question of the Erogenous Minbari Bonecrest(TM) is addressed, Kes is scheming with Lennier (sort of) and Chakotay finally gets his date.

Have fun!

Addendum: I've been just invited to post my original German fantasy stories on www.fanfiktion.de, a German original fiction archive. *does happy dance* I never knew that anyone read those on fictionpress.com. Will do so, soon.
